First posting - Confessions
I started gaming in 1984, my first game that departed from the normal stand bys of Cop and Robbers and War was Car Wars, a game by Steve Jackson game. about this time i started to read fantasy, with my teacher reading Tolken's Hobbit to the Class. Car Wars was a Grim future where killing for entertainment had become legal. More board game than anything else I loved the black plastic boxes that it came in the cutting up of the chits and the setting's developing theme. I even gone back and bought the old stuff just so I can have it in my collection. The setting in my mind is still great, I wish Steve Jackson would do more with it. Still it remains part of some very fond memories.
In 1988, like millions of other I bought red box D&D. I played a wizard and died to the first goblin arrow shot at me. In 1989, I tried AD&D and DM for the first time. From that I branched out into Palladium Fantasy in 1990, in 1991 I got into both Robotech and RIFTS from Palladium and established myself as a role player first and foremost. Like most of the world I played Magic The Gathering in 1994, and loved and hated the game ever since. Now I just play Commander, as most of the other play types are too competitive for my liking. I got introduced to the World of Darkness in 1994 through Vampire the Masquerade. In 2003 I started playing Warhammer 40k and soon after Warhammer Fantasy. My latest new game has been LARP, something I made fun of in the past, which I started playing in 2012, I will thank Kathleen and Tammy for that. There will be a video game post but that is it own evolution I sure this BLOGs that gets updated once in while but not a set time frame.
